Elizabeth Stauffer Aumann

Elizabeth Stauffer Aumann of Amberley Village, formerly of Mason, Ohio, passed away on March 24, 2021 after a brief illness.

Liz was born in Sandusky, Ohio to Melvyn J. and Mary (Peterson) Stauffer. She graduated from Miami University with a B.A. in English and received two master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati. She was the Executive Director of Benefits, Compensation, and Human Resources Operations for the University of Cincinnati and was instrumental in creating the Employee Wellness Program. She also served as an adjunct professor.

Liz was an avid runner and hiker. She enjoyed boating and traveling with her family, and loved to host a great party. She also loved to read and was always looking for a great mystery.

Liz was active in her church, Heritage Presbyterian Church in Mason, Ohio. She served in multiple leadership roles, including ruling elder, deacon, chair of the Christian Education Committee, and co-director of Vacation Bible School. She also dedicated her time to multiple non-profit and civic organizations in and around Cincinnati.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, Robert J. Aumann and her sons Matthew (Carrie Almasi) and Joshua. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Jane (Frank) Hill, Martha (Dennis) Murray, Ann (David) Binzer, and John (Ann) Stauffer, along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. at Heritage Presbyterian Church, 6546 Mason-Montgomery Road, Mason, Ohio. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing will be required, and efforts will be made to hold as much of the gathering outside as weather permits.  A private family service will be held.
