Angela Gail Rupp, 68, of Hamilton, Ohio passed away February 20, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Angela (Angie or 'Gigi' ) was born on June 30, 1955, in Huntington, West Virginia. She was the first-born child of Thomas C and Phyllis A. (Davis) Rupp.
Angie will always be remembered for her kind, caring, and generous soul. Her smile would light up a room. She never met a stranger and could talk your ear off if given the opportunity. Although Angie was born with several Skeletomuscular abnormalities, she never let that fact define her. She overcame many obstacles in her life and each challenge was faced with optimism and a "can do" attitude.
Angie graduated from William Mason High School in 1973 and her greatest dream was to become an RN. She was initially denied admission to nursing school because of her congenital birth defects, but she pressed on and was admitted to an institution that embraced her, St. Mary's Nursing School in Huntington, West Virginia. She graduated from nursing school in 1977 and was an RN for 46 years. Although she worked in many areas of medicine, her greatest love was pediatric nursing. She worked in the NICU at Cincinnati Children's Hospital for 4 years and was a pediatric home care nurse for the last 26 years. Angie was beloved by patients, families, and colleagues. Her spirit and determination to overcome the odds have been an inspiration to many.
Angie's second passion was baking. She made the most amazing cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. She was completely self-taught, but her baked goods rivaled those of professionally trained bakers. Even more than she loved baking, she loved gifting her creations to family and friends.
Cruises with her friends to the Caribbean and Alaska and trips to Hawaii and Florida were some of her fondest memories. She loved beautiful, colorful clothes and home decor. Her home was so tastefully decorated it could have been featured in a magazine spread.
Angie is survived by her three siblings: Debbie, Greg, and Keith, all of Mason, Ohio, several aunts, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas C. and Phyllis A. (nee Davis) Rupp.
She will be remembered most for her kind and loving heart, generous soul, courage, and perseverance.
