Anna Bruce (Richardson) Girdler, born June 26, 1931, in Hamilton Co., Ohio, third of seven children born to Vernon Hubert & Eva Lee (Tuttle) Richardson. Anna grew up in a loving, church going family, attending Sunday monring services each and every week. After Sunday school classes, Anna would go home and prepare the Sunday dinner (alone) having everything ready for her family when they came home, giving relief to her mother to enjoy the Church's full day programs.
Anna attended grade school in a little two room school house near Brecon, Ohio, which offered 1st through 5th grade, and at the sixth advanced to Sharonville, Ohio High School where she attended grades 6 through 12. She ended her 12th year as class president and Prom Queen. She maintained contact with her classmates and for the last several years they attended a monthly group dinner, though the last few years she was wheelchair bound, she was always ready and loved to go.
Anna married her childhood sweetheart, Robert Girdler at age 19. They became close companions, school mates, and neighbors for 12 years. They have now enjoyed a marriage of 68 years, always together, never apart. Anna was blessed with six children, Elaine Carol (Girdler) Bray, Wane Daryl Girdler, Kathy Fay (Girdler) Westall, Randal Bruce Girdler, the late Robert Jay Girdler and the late Sandra Lynn (Girdler) Gambill. She endured the loss of the oldest daughter and son only two days apart while she was quite ill. Anna is also blessed with 8 grandchildren.
Anna, in mid life was found to have advanced Rheumatoid Arthritis, which created severe problems over the following years. In 1985 she was so bothered with pain Anna had to leave her employment with Avon Products at Springdale, where she had been so proud to have packed the first order from that facility. Anna advanced quickly from packer, inspector, to analyst and remained in that position until she left. Although being offered several chances for further advancement , she declined saying she enjoyed with the group she was working with.
A great person, a loving mother, grandmother, and a life-long beautiful wife.
