Barbara Reece

Mason - Barbara J. Reece (nee Whitaker) age 80, died peacefully December 24, 2018 at her home .  Born in Lockland, Ohio on September 11, 1938 to parents Escar and Osa Whitaker.  Survived by her devoted son Michael (Mary) Reece, loving sister of Norma J. (Paul) Viox, the late Wilma J. Dillingham, and Sandra T. (Len) Harding. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Barbara worked at Tenacity in Lockland as a book binder for many years, the kind of books you might find in a law firm's bookcase.  She could paint and draw, and loved antiques, gardening, and knitting.  She was very creative and could fix most anything and always had some sort of project going.  She also created many beautiful stained glass pieces.  She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.  Services will be held at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home  - Mason (400 Reading Rd., Mason, OH 45040) on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM with a funeral to follow beginning at 12 Noon.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in loving memory of Barbara to a charity of one's choice.
