David Sammons, born August 12, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio, met his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2020. David is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Cherryl Sammons (nee Lykins), cherished children Brandon David (Betsy) Sammons and Allison (Kevin) Lyons (nee Sammons), his loving grandchildren whom to them they knew as poopaw, Prince, Izuchukwu, Sophia, Emmanuel, Micah, Adyline, Malaya,Leighton Psalm, and Samuel, Mother-in-Law, Loretta Lykins, and siblings, Donald Sammons (Tonya), Susan Neal, Kathy Gale (Steven), Patty Sammons, Richard Sammons, Nancy Chessey (the late Michael Chessey), Sandra Whitley, Daniel Sammons (Cindy), Douglas Sammons (Lisa), Amy Combs (Dave), Julie Phelan (Tom), Rhonda & Fred Ford, Kelly and Andy Volpenhein, as well as numerous extended family and friends. David is preceded in death by father Donald Stanley Sammons, mother Marilyn Huber Sammons, and Father-in-Law, Lowell Lykins. David was a devoted man of faith. He cherished the time he spent with family, never knew a stranger, and had a servant's heart. David was an avid collector of many things. Some of these things are beanie babies, coins, sports cards, and most of all memories with his family.
The family of David will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home (400 Reading Rd., Mason, OH 45040) on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a funeral service to follow beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020. Due to cemetery regulations, a burial and graveside service will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 12 Noon. For those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery, please arrive at the funeral home at 11:15 Am
