Dorothy Poggiali

Dorothy M. Poggiali (Monak), born November 11, 1930, in Marblehead, Ohio to the late Peter and Sophia (nee Millie) Monak, passed away peacefully in Lebanon, Ohio on July 15,2024. Proud and loving wife of the late Lewis D. Poggiali (deceased February 14, 2023) for sixty nine years, beloved mother of Dean (Janet) Poggiali, Peter (the late Robin) Poggiali, and Tony (Suzanne) Poggiali, cherished grandmother of Shoni (Shawn Bender) Poggiali, Andrea (Juan) Serna, Alexis Poggiali, Heather Poggiali, the late Ryan Poggiali, beloved great-grandmother of Alaina, Samantha, Harley, Ryleigh, Lilly, Faith, Nathaniel, Enrique, Emilio, Juan, and Gracie, great, great-grandmother of Aria and Ashoka. Surviving is sister Ruth Flewelling. She was predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Janice & Phil Timko, brother-in-law Harry Flewelling and brother-in-law Richard & sister-in-law Marilyn Poggiali. She was a loving aunt of many nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins. Dorothy graduated from Danbury Township High School and went on to become an accomplished and well-known hairdresser. This is a skill she carried on throughout her life with friends and family. Dorothy loved her family, being outdoors, Bible study, meeting with friends and gardening. Her kindness, humor, love, and talent will be missed deeply by many.

The family of Dorothy will be receiving friends for a visitation and celebration of Dorothy’s life at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home 400 Reading Rd., Mason, Ohio, 45040 on July 18, 2024, from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM. A burial and graveside service will take place at Catawba Island Township Cemetery 4822 E. Cemetery Rd, Port Clinton, OH 43452, on Saturday July 20,2024 at 1:00 pm
