Eleanor "Marie" Dayton

Eleanor "Marie" Dayton, born December 21, 1937, passed away on September 8, 2021.  Loving wife of the late Donald Keith Dayton, cherished mother of Michael Lynn and Maria Dayton, Dawn Marie and Timothy Bates, and Daniel Keith and Dorothy Dayton.  Beloved grandmother of Angela (Martin) Hunt, Melissa Favata, Christina (Jason) Van Koevering, Brian (Merinda) Dayton, Shandril (Andrew) Dayton, Luke Dayton, April (Gregory) McDermitt, Alex (Ashlee) Bates, Erin (Mark) Brooks, Britanni (Bradley) Mohr, Andrew Dayton, and beloved great-grandmother of 15 great-grandchildren.  Marie is preceded in death by brothers Harry Keith Cluts, Francis Owen Cluts, Harold Ray Cluts, and daughter-in-law Drinda Ann (Eblin) Dayton.

Marie was a true Renaissance woman, there wasn't anything she was not involved in or put her whole heart in to.  She was a proud member and resident of Mason and the community for 61 years.  In those 61 years, Marie became instrumental in starting girls softball in Mason with a group of ladies, which continued into her coaching boy's baseball for 2 years, and then being an umpire for 30 years.  She was also Bowling Secretary for Mason Bowl Wednesday Morning league for 58 years.  Marie was very involved in church, and sang in Christ's Church choir, p layed in Christ's Church  handbell choir, and sang in the choir at Mason Christian Village, just to list a few things.  She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and community.

The family of Eleanor will be receiving friends for a visitation at Christ's Church Mason (5165 Western Row Rd., Mason, OH 45040) on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.  A funeral service will take place the following day, Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Mason United Methodist Church (6315 Mason-Montgomery Rd., Mason, OH 45040) beginning at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Christ's Church or a church of your choice.
