Erin Cherney

September 25, 1980 — February 17, 2025

Mason

Erin Kathleen Cherney, a devoted member of the Mason, Ohio community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 17, 2025.

Beloved as a wife, Erin shared a beautiful 20-year marriage with her husband Nick, a bond that blossomed over 28 years of love and companionship. She was an extraordinary mother to her cherished children, Nathan, Elise, and Maxwell. As a sister, she was a source of comfort and joy to her brother Ryan (Glenna) Brayton, and to her mother Janet, who stood by her side until the very end.

Erin's life was enriched by her passion for education. She held numerous degrees, including several Bachelor's and Master's, . With a heart for teaching, she made a significant impact in the lives of her students, recognizing the importance of nurturing young minds. Her diverse career also allowed her to explore her talents in various roles, from marketing manager to her time at Cintas, always bringing her unique spirit to each endeavor, including her involvement in exciting Nascar events and working with the University of Miami.

However, the role Erin cherished most was that of a mother. The joy of raising her children brought her immense fulfillment, and she embraced the challenges and rewards of motherhood with grace. Her children were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.

Erin had a soft spot for her beloved fur babies, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Chloe, with her angel wings, Rosco, her steadfast protector, and Daisy, her "Covid baby," were more than pets; they were a part of Erin’s family, each one adding joy and laughter to her life.

A true gift to all who knew her, Erin embodied love and positivity, teaching those around her to embrace life to its fullest. She lived every day with passion, found joy in the simplest moments, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her legacy is one of selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Erin will be profoundly missed by her many students at MECC, as the 1st grade teacher in her well known "frog classroom" whose lives she touched and shaped, by her family who will carry forward the stories and memories they shared, and especially by Nick, who will forever treasure her loving spirit, zest for life, and the strength that inspired everyone around her.

As we celebrate Erin’s remarkable life, we hold close the lessons she imparted and the love she spread. She will forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
