Farley Baker 75 of Morrow Ohio took his final earthly breath and joined his loving wife Karen on December 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family who loved him dearly. He was born November 09, 1947, in South Lebanon, Ohio to Forrest and Oda (nee: Allen) Baker.
Farley honorably served in the Unites States Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam and received his Purple Heart. After the Marines, Farley had a pet store and village video that he ran with his wife. He also took care of a horse farm where he lovingly cared for the horses and the grounds. He then took his final job in Maintenance at Warren County where he then retired.
Farley had many things he loved like traveling, camping, Santas and his most treasured hobby that he is widely known for, his wood carving. Wood Carving was more than just a hobby for him, it was his passion. He enjoyed attending carving classes all over and carving shows. He was a valued member of the Miami Valley Woodcarvers. Farley really loved teaching and showing others the amazing ways of woodcarving. Some of Farley’s favorite traveling destinations were camping trips he took with his family to Gatlinburg Tennessee, and road trips out West that he had done multiple times.
Farley not only loved all those things but some of his favorite things were being a grandpa, spending time with his son in-law Karl riding Harley’s and spending time with his closest friends. He absolutely loved being a grandpa more than anything. It is all he talked about, and he was even more excited to be welcoming a new grand-baby this year that he held on for but never got to physically meet. In his world his grandbabies could never do wrong. He was also known for his big heart, helping hand and for his jokes, stories, and pranks. No one was ever safe when it came to his jokes and pranks.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Karen (nee: Stubbs) Baker, parents Forrest and Oda (nee: Allen) Baker, his one sister Josepine Rice, his 3 brothers Manford Baker, Herb Baker and Randal Baker. He is survived by his daughter Miranda (Karl) Schatzer, three grandchildren Le’Etta, Easton and DellaRay Schatzer, his two brothers Hobart Baker and Valgene Baker, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins
