Gary Bowyer

Gary Lee Bowyer, born September 1, 1937, passed away February 27, 2018.  Beloved father of Wendy (Dennis) Stratton, cherished grandfather of William Stratton and Lauren Stratton, dear brother of Stephen (Ruth) Bowyer, husband of former wife Wilma (Eickenhorst) Bowyer Herrin (Wendell), former brother-in-law of Martha Mohrfield, dear uncle of Chris Colyer, Marcia Ferry, and Peggy Campbell,  and great uncle of several   nephews and a niece.  He graduated from Miami University in1959 and become a school teacher.  He later worked for State Farm and Kentucky Central Insurance Companies, and retired from Colonial Williamsburg. Gay was an Eagle Scout and representative for his graduating class. He loved history, gardening, and trains.  Gary also enjoyed making bird houses, reading, and was an avid traveler. Gary was a member of the E.T Carson Lodge #598.   A graveside service for Gary will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Rose Hill Cemetery, 171 Mason Montgomery Rd., Mason, OH 45040 beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105
