23 year Air Force Veteran - George Earl Bryant, born February 24, 1938, passed away November 16, 2016.
Survived by loving companion Marilynn O'Laughlin, cherished daughters Kerry Ricks and Debra Queen, beloved grandchildren Shaun Ricks and Ryan Ricks, dear sister-in-law Claire (The Late Robert) Bryant and brother Clarence "Buddy" (Patricia) Bryant. Preceded in death by beloved wife Doris Bryant, parents Clarence and Evelyn Bryant, siblings Beryl Bryant and Allen Bryant, and beloved dog Casey. George retired as a Senior Master Sargeant (E8) in the Air Force. In his second career as a GE Aircraft EnginesEmployee George was instrumental in the success of several programs including the F118 for the B2 bomber as well as the F110 Program for Egyptian Air Force F16’s. Following retirement from GE he managed the System’s Technical Support Program for Armor Holdings Inc. and later for BAE Systems. In this capacity, he was instrumental in the development of prototype systems for the U.S. Army’s Up-Armored HMMWV’s, MRAP vehicles as well as armored construction equipment, and associated Technical Manuals. He was good with his hands and enjoyed building hot rods in his youth and a custom '46 Dodge Truck later in life. George loved his family, friends, and country. A visitation for George will be held at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home-Mason (400 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040) on Friday, November 18, 2016, from 3:00 PM-3:30 PM, with a memorial service to follow beginning at 3:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, or The Wounded Warriors Foundation.
