Gerald "Jerry" Banta Jr.

Gerald "Jerry" Banta, Jr., born February 15, 1988 in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on April 1, 2022.  Jerry is survived by his loving mother and biggest fan Shirley (Jack Frederick) Banta, very special friend Britni Beatty, cherished daughter Emrie Banta, a beloved sister Chrisstina Ross, treasured nieces and nephews Jacob Ross, Justin Ross, Jacen Ross, Carlynn Ross, Cydnie Ross, and many loving aunts and uncles.  Jerry is preceded in death by dear father Gerald Banta, Sr.. Jerry had a caring heart and kind soul. He graduated from Lakota East where he played football and was known as the "gentle giant" on the basketball court.  He went on to attend Wright State after high school and worked in production.  Jerry loved sports of all kinds and was especially excited with the Bengals season this year.  He cherished being a father, loved being an uncle, and cared for his mom, sister, and father deeply.  The family of Jerry will be receiving friends for a visitation at Mason Church of God (204 Williams St, Mason, OH 45040) on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, with a memorial service to take place beginning at 1:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the donations tab at the top of Jerry's obituary page to help the family with funeral expenses and to navigate these difficult times ahead.
