James Curtis Boone, born on December 5, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, was a cherished soul whose incredible spirit and warmth touched everyone who knew him. After dedicating years of his life to serving in the U.S. Airforce, James embraced life with unwavering fervor, exploring both the world and the beauty that surrounded him.
James had a zest for adventure that led him on many journeys, including thrilling rides on his cherished motorcycle, which took him to Sturgis not once but twice—one of those unforgettable trips shared with his lively twin brother, Ronnie, who remains in our hearts. He found joy in the beauty of nature during trips to Tennessee, where camping and boating brought him peace; his favorite retreat was the enchanting Dandridge.
Back home in Dandridge, one could often find James relaxing on his front porch, strumming his guitar and enchanting neighbors, friends, and even local law enforcement with the melodies he created. Music was a treasured part of his life, just as his faith and family were integral to his heart.
James was a devoted father to Jackie Boone, Jodi Dustin, and James Curtis Boone II, nurturing them with love and guidance. He was a proud grandfather to Heather, Tricia, Christopher, Austin, Logan, McKenzie, Jeffrey, Charlie, Caleb, and a beloved great- grandfather to Jorden, Tori, Jonathan, Haley, Angelina, Aurora, Maesleigh, Braelyn and heartwarming great -great grandfather to Za'Riyah. He also shared an exceptional bond with his dear sister, Jeanie Weir. He also left behind many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
As we celebrate James's remarkable life, we find solace in knowing that he is now riding the big open road in heaven alongside his beloved children, Tammy and Terry Boone. He was also proceeded in death by his siblings; his identical twin Ronnie, sister, Betty, and his Brother Bill. He will also join his Mother Edith and Father Curtis once he rides the highway to heaven. His legacy of love, adventure, and joy will live on in our hearts forever.
