Janet George

May 21, 1956 — February 7, 2025

West Chester

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet George, who peacefully left us on February 7th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.

Born on May 21, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Janet was the cherished daughter of Warren and Dorothy Groh. Throughout her life, she exhibited strength, kindness, and love for her family and friends. Her nurturing spirit, grace, and determination were evident to all who knew her, especially during her courageous fight against cancer.

Janet was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She and her devoted husband, Tom George, had been married for 18 years. She leaves behind her children: Lisa Huff and Juliana (Huff) Daniel, as well as her stepchildren: Emily (Huff) Yearout, Amy (Huff) Fisher, Michael Brock, Amber (George) Howard, and Gabrielle (George) O’Connell. She also treasured her role as a grandmother, leaving behind 18 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, who brought her immense joy. She is survived by her sister Laurie (Groh) Israel and her brother Michael Groh, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.

Janet was preceded in death by her mother and father, Warren and Dorothy Groh, and her twin sister Sharon (Groh) Morris.

A proud member of a blended family, Janet embraced all the individuals who came into her life with open arms and an open heart, and she leaves behind lasting connections that will continue to thrive.

A graduate of Cincinnati Christian Schools and West Suburban Hospital School of Nursing, she was passionate about nursing, music and homemaking. Her interests included sewing, alternative medicine, and gardening. Above all, her family was her greatest love, and she cherished the time spent with those she held most dear. A memorial service will be held on March 13th, 2025, at Center Pointe Christian Church, 5962 Hamilton Mason Rd., Liberty Township, OH 45011, at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Southwest Ohio in her honor.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort knowing that she is now at peace. Her legacy of love, strength, and unity will live on in all of us, both family and friends, who were touched by her life.
