Jean Gaylord

Jean Elliott Gaylord, Born April 14, 1919 in Hamilton, Ohio, passed away September 16, 2015. Jean was the loving wife of the late Dr. Paul Gaylord, whom she married on August 12, 1944, was the devoted mother of Valerie (Lynn) Gaylord, Robin Jean Gaylord, and Lisa Jane (Newt Darryl) Bowen, dear grandmother of Shannon Glover, John (Lina) Bowen, Dr. Paul (Cindy) Bowen, Ross (Shelby McNamara) Gaylord, Molly Bowen, Julia Bowen and Eleni Gaylord, and cherished great grandmother of Annika Bowen, Spencer Bowen, Charlie Bowen, Liam Gaylord, Mia Burton, Fox Glover, and Maverick Glover. Jean was active in many clubs. She was on the Miami University Mortar Board, the Tri-Delta Sorority, she was a sister of P.E.O Chapter C.L. Jean also served as Past President of the Metropolitan Women's Club. She was a teacher for 35 years, and was the owner of Gaylord's Carriage House Gifts. The family of Jean will be receiving guests for a visitation on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, at The Presbyterian Church of Hamilton Ohio (23 S Front St, Hamilton, OH 45011), with a funeral service to follow beginning at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dr. Paul R. Gaylord Scholarship Fund c/o Miami University, or to the Animal Friends Humane Society (1820 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011) in honor of Jean's best friend Rocky.
