Jeri Merkel

Jeri Clinkscales Merkel, wife to Fritz Merkel, was called to Heaven on Saturday March 10th. Jeri is the daughter of Ray and Dorothy Clinkscales of Anderson, SC. Jeri was 68 years old , born in June 1949, Graduated from T.L. Hanna High School in 1967. Jeri attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!) where she met Fritz. They married in September 1970 and enjoyed over 47 years of marriage. Jeri is survived by her husband Fritz, Sons Todd with his wife Missy of Galva, IL and Ryan with his wife Melissa of Sunbury, OH, Grandchildren Kailyn, Mia, Reece, Teagan, Nick, Jennifer, Alex and Nolen and Great Grandsons Wyatt and Logan. Also, Brother and Sister in Law Jim and Sandy Merkel, Nephews Patrick and Scott Merkel and grand nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Jeri enjoyed many activities & hobbies including cooking, playing bridge, reading, knitting, sewing, jewelry making, painting, hand making birthday cards as well as volunteering for schools, youth golf and Bethesda Hospital. She was particularly loving of her family, especially her grandchildren which she loved to see as often as possible.

Most recently she enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Fritz and enjoying wines from every place imaginable. In Lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Jeri’s name.
