John Fox

In loving memory of John Fox, a Mason, Ohio resident, who passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023.  John was born in Beattyville, Kentucky to Dewey and Polly Fox, both of whom are deceased.  

John is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Annette (Moore) Fox.  He will forever be remembered as a cherished father to Jolinda (Fox) Lydon and father-in-law to Harry Lydon, and a dear brother to Flora Couch (deceased), Jeanette Spicer (deceased), Dewey Fox, Jr.(deceased), Julius (Short) Fox (deceased), Gene Fox (deceased), Dora Hacker, and Larry Fox, and brother-in-law to Betty Fox (deceased), Seldon Hacker, Brenda Noble Fox, Bernice Ramey (deceased), Jesse Paul Moore (deceased) and Norma Moore.

John held many titles in his life, from Coal Truck Driver to Carpenter. However, his favorite roles were being a husband and father. He cherished every moment spent with his loving wife and daughter. John's commitment to his family was evident in his actions, as he was always there for them, whether it was helping them prepare a meal or fixing things around the house. His dedication and support extended beyond the walls of his home, as he brought the same level of commitment to his work at Colosseum Homes. John's strong work ethic and caring nature made him a valuable employee and friend to Al Federle. He was a true role model for balancing work and family life, and his positive attitude and kind demeanor will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. John enjoyed activities such as gardening, fishing, sitting on the front porch and talking with neighbors, and playing with his granddog, Lexi. 

In celebrating John’s life, his loved ones remember his passion for family, dedication to his work ethic and his storytelling. We are grateful for the time we had with him and will always remember him with the utmost respect and admiration.  

The family of John will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home - 400 Reading Rd., Mason, OH 45040 on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12 Noon.  A memorial service will follow beginning at 12 Noon.
