Joseph Moore

September 14, 1931 — April 21, 2020

Joseph (Joe) Mathew Moore

Born September 14, 1931, passed away April 21, 2020, at age 88.  Those who knew him well say he died of a broken heart, because of the loss of his dear wife Rose.

Joe was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Mary and Martin Moore.  In 1949 he graduated from Parkersburg High School, Parkersburg, West Virginia. February 3, 1951, he married his high school sweetheart Rose Ella (Kimble) Moore, who preceded him in death after 54 years of marriage.  He dearly loved his wife Rose and never recovered from her loss.  In addition to his wife, Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Moore, Watertown, Ohio, and his sister Ann (Moore) Brown, Cleveland, Ohio.  He is survived by one brother Mathew F. Moore, Parkersburg, West Virginia. He leaves behind his beloved sons, Michael M. Moore and Stephen J. Moore, a daughter-in-law Kristi and four grandchildren, Gregory, Jennifer, Stephen, and Sarah Michelle.

Joe served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War Veteran.  In 1994 he retired from Procter & Gamble Co. Engineering Division, after many years of service as a Senior Welding Engineer in the Engineering Materials Section.  Joe was a long time member of The American Welding Society and, for several years, just prior to his military service and shortly thereafter, was a member of Plumber and Pipefitter Local 565 Parkersburg, West Virginia.

The family will lay Joe to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Friday, April 24, 2020, at 11:00 AM.  A live-stream of the funeral service will be available at https://www.facebook.com/102422304486070/posts/260174055377560/?d=n
