Josephine Midkiff

Josephine Midkiff, (84) beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on March 26, 2015, in West Lafayette, Indiana. Her home was in West Chester, Ohio. She was born Josephine Depew on October 16, 1930, in Reading, Ohio to Doris (Purtee) and Lloyd Depew. She is survived by her daughter, Doris (Angie) Evangeline Blessing (John), West Lafayette, Indiana, her son, David Wayne Midkiff (Celeste), Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and 4 grandchildren, Christine Rose Midkiff, Mt. Holly, NJ, Elizabeth Ann Midkiff, Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Thomas John Midkiff Blessing, Carmel, Indiana, and James David Midkiff, Quakertown, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her sisters, Ora Lee Walker, Palm Springs, California, and Anita Joann Jarvis, Dade City, Florida. She is predeceased by her husband, Wayne Tilford Midkiff, her sister, Bonnie Jean Howard, and her brother, Billy Dean Depew.

Josephine and Wayne Midkiff were married for 60 years from June, 1950, to May, 2011. This picture of her was taken on their 60th anniversary.

Josephine graduated from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio, with a Master's degree in counseling and from Wilmington College (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Education with a minor in English. She received the Golden Key award from the Golden Key International Honour Society for her scholastic work at Wilmington College. Josephine graduated from Union Township High School, West Chester, Ohio, where she was president of the Latin Club and a basketball cheerleader.
