Judith (Judy) Ann Baudendistel was born January 15, 1946 and passed away surrounded by her family on January 24, 2025. She died of complications with pneumonia.
When Judy (Sowders) was only a 14-year-old teen, she fell in love with another boy at school (William Mason High School) named Jim Baudendistel. They were later married on September 11, 1965. When they promised “till death do us part” they meant it. They were married for 59 years.
Most of Judy’s growing up years took place in Mason. As an adult she became a cafeteria cook and gradually worked her way up to Head Cook for many years at Mason Heights Elementary School. She fed Mason’s children for 25 years. Outside work she enjoyed decorating her house, going to church, shopping and thrift shop bargain hunting. While later living in Loveland she enjoyed planning Halloween parties for all the grandkids which highlighted many treats she made and Jim taking them all on a hayride around the neighborhood.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Sowders. She is survived by her still loving husband Jim, her children Missi Schulte and Todd Baudendistel as well as her brother Daryl Sowders and sister Dauna Easley. She also had many adored grandchildren and even great grandkids, Justin, Meghan, Lauren, Zayden, Raelynn, Mia, and Charleigh. They will all carry memories of her.
Her memorial service will be held at Shorten & Ryan Funeral Home. Later she will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in memory of Judy Baudendistel.
