Lynne Taliaferro

Lynne Taliaferro (nee Wilkinson), age 77, of Waynesville, Ohio, previously of Belpre, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, after a long illness.

Born July 14, 1947, in Charleston, WV, Lynne was the eldest daughter of the late Kermit and Virginia (nee Knauft) Wilkinson and was a 1965 graduate of Western Hills Highschool in Cincinnati, OH. 

 After obtaining her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Marshall University, she went on to teach for Cincinnati Public Schools, Fairland Local Schools in Proctorville, Ohio and Belpre City Schools in Belpre, Ohio. She later became a social worker for Children's Home Society in Parkersburg, WV and volunteered regularly at Parkersburg Urban Ministries. 

Lynne was a member of First United Methodist Church in Parkersburg WV, where she taught Sunday school, worked on social concerns & mission committees and was a member of the Suzannah Circle. 

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt Frances "Doodie" Stamper. Lynne is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, David Taliaferro of Waynesville, Ohio, her sons Matt (Rick Curnutte) Taliaferro, and Robert (Amanda Breedlove) Taliaferro, and her three grandchildren, Joel, Noah, and Brooklyn Taliaferro, all of Maineville, Ohio. Also surviving are her sisters Susan Rockwood and Jane Wilkinson, both of Cincinnati, as well as her six nieces and nephews.

 Many thanks to the staff and caregivers at Ohio Living Quaker Heights in Waynesville, Ohio for their kind, caring and compassionate service. Friends may call from 1PM to 2 PM, on Saturday March 29, 2025 at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre, Ohio with funeral service immediately following. A graveside interment service will then occur immediately afterwards at Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, Ohio.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lynne's memory to either First United Methodist Church or Parkersburg Urban Ministries, Parkersburg West Virginia. Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home in Mason, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
