Mary Cimini

Mary Rosalie Cimini, born December 5, 1923 to the late John and Tecla Duda, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on January 19, 2022.  Loving wife of the late Orlando Cimini, cherished mother of Judy (Larry) Hoelzle, Mike (Carol) Cimini, Mark Anthony (Helen) Cimini, Rita (Benny) Moore, John (Heidi) Cimini, and Therese (Greg) Martin, and beloved grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  Mary was dedicated to providing and nurturing her family.  During World War II, she worked in the factory, checking gasoline cans that were to be used, before becoming a switchboard operator.  Some of her fondest memories were when she would get to dance with friends on Saturday nights.  It was the highlight of her week, and she loved to share stories about dancing at the Bohemian Hall in Bellaire, OH where she grew up.  She said she danced every dance no matter the song or her partner, and brought joy to her family and many others with her sewing (especially with her Angel Wings).  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend that will be greatly missed.  The family of Mary will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home (400 Reading Road., Mason, OH 45040) on January 31, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12 Noon with a memorial service to follow beginning at 12 Noon.  We do ask that those who attend to please follow current Covid protocol.  Donations may be made in honor and memory of Mary to Dancing with our Stars Gala which is a charitable event by the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio.  Donations can be made using their website ( DSACO.net or by check made to: Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio, 510 East North Broadway, Col, OH 43214).  Donations can be made in memory of Mary Cimini or simply designated for the ‘Dancing with our Stars Gala’ or both!
