Paul W. Rolfes “Skip”, born August 24, 1945, to Paul and Martha Rolfes, passed away on February 11, 2024.
Loving husband of Anne Rolfes (nee Martin), cherished father of Gina (Chuey) Rolfes, Carrie (Greg) Hester, Stephanie Stephens, and loving stepfather of Christopher Davis (Riana), Sarah Davis (Stephen), Jessica Davis (Andrew) and Ronald Griswold (god son), adored grandfather of Chelsea Hood, Donald Hester, Calvin Hester, Cole Hester (Hailey), Alec Gilreath, Kaelyn Booker, James Feerer, Christian Ivey, Aoife Paxton, Abbi Ivey, Lexi Stephens, Andrey Perry, Jr., and Vincent Leporati.
Beloved brother of Mary Ann (Bill) Bross, Martha Jean (the late John) Rizzo, Barbara Rolfes, Chuck (Sharon) Rolfes, Mary Lou (the late Dave) Rolfes, the late Joe Rolfes and the late Janet (Frank) Oaks.
After graduating from Lockland High School in the class of 1963, Skip would decide to become a policeman to have a steadier career for his family and trained at the Ohio State Highway Patrol. He joined the Sharonville Police Department and after serving for many years, he made a career change and moved the family to Texas for about 9 yrs.
Skip also enjoyed going golfing with his brothers Chuck and Dave, high school football and basketball with Chuck, grilling and smoking out for his family and friends, and going out on the gun range at the Farm with family and friends.
Skip provided security for the Reds and Bengals for 10 yrs. at Riverfront Stadium. Skip was a lifelong Bengal fan starting in 1968 when they were formed. As for the Reds, telling stories of Crosley field was always a fond memory for him.
Skip will be deeply missed by many for his view of sports, politics and family values.
The family of Skip will be receiving friends and family for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home – 400 Reading Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Monday, February 19, 2024, from
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow the following day, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, beginning at 10:00 AM with light reception to follow. The family will intern Skip at Spring Grove Cemetery later this week.
