Ruth Elam

Ruth H. Elam (nee Nehls), born November 20, 1919, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away April 4, 2017.  Ruth is survived by her dear children Ronald Elam, Rick (Linda) Elam, Jack Elam, and Jim (Diana) Elam, cherished grandchildren Eric Elam, Brian (Morgan) Elam, David (Lisa) Elam, Sarah (Bobby) Thompson, and Jeffery Elam, and beloved great-grandchildren Arianna, Claira, Levi, and Riley.  Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband John B. Elam, Jr.  Ruth was an excellent cook and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading with her husband, and spending time with her family.  The family of Ruth will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home – Mason (400 Reading Road, Mason, OH 45040) on Monday, April 10, 2017, from 10:00 AM – 12 Noon, with a funeral service to follow beginning at 12 Noon.  A funeral procession to Gate of Heaven Cemetery will follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati – Blue Ash or a charity of your choice.
