Sharon Yolanda Hicks, aged 66, entered her eternal peace on April 1, 2013 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Sharon was born January 4, 1967 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Richard Scott and Betty Taylor.
She graduated from the historical black boarding school Lincoln Institute with the class of 1967. After graduation, she was employed by the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville, KY. Sharon retired after 20+ years as a federal employee in the year 2000.
Sharon was an advent traveler, painter, and she loved to spend time with her extended family. She touched the lives of many people with her beautiful smile, laughter and generosity.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Charles T. Hicks and her daughter, Laturicia Wofford. She will always be remembered by her loving sisters Melvinlyn J. Martin and Cosandra Rice, her devoted brothers Victor W. Taylor (Ramona), Mark H. Taylor (Angela), and Rodney K. Taylor, her beloved grandchildren Anthony Cory Wofford, Latyla Leigh Wofford, Anthony Justyse Wofford, along with countless other family members and friends that were blessed to know her.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home, 400 Reading Rd, Mason, OH. Visitation from 10am to 11am, with service to follow. The family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor at www.alz.org.
