Sylvia Ann Stewart, nee (Eggerding), 87 of Mason, Ohio was born in December of 1936, and was called to eternal life in heaven by her savior Jesus Christ and peacefully passed away on November 2nd , 2024, at University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her Husband, Joseph Rodger Stewart of Mason, Ohio; Mother, Mildred Anna Marie Eggerding (Finke) and Father Edward Henry Eggerding of Mason, Ohio.
She is survived by her sons: Scott Randall Stewart, 65 of Fairfield, Ohio, Dale Edward Stewart, 62 of Mason, Ohio, Grand Daughter Anne Marie Stewart, 20 of Hamilton, Ohio and her sister Joyce Elaine (John) Knappenberger, of Blairsville, Georgia.
Sylvia was a raised in a religious home with lots of love and discipline and as a result was a devout Christian and member of many Lutheran Church’s in Cincinnati. She was schooled in her elementary years at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church & School in Silverton, Ohio where she also worshipped the Lord for many years by singing in the Church Choir with her sister, while their mother played the organ. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Madisonville, Ohio and later was a Charter Member of the King of Kings Lutheran Church of Mason, Ohio. For the last 25+ years she worshipped at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Milford, Ohio and served in a few different capacities to include being the Church Treasurer.
Sylvia was a banker for over 30 years and was last employed by U.S. Bank, N.A. serving as a branch manager and customer service representative to many retirees in the retirement communities at Woodridge Retirement Community in Fairfield, Ohio and Cottingham Retirement Center in Sharonville, Ohio. Following her retirement in 2001, she enjoyed many hours singing and performing with the “Ambassadors Choir” at the Mason Christian Village, caring for her home and yard, her children and granddaughter; mothering them up until the moment of death. She enjoyed cross-stitching, “doing the books,” (balancing check books), mind challenging puzzles and anything financial or involving numbers to keep her mind active and sharp.
Sylvia was the pillar and foundation of her family, and many will remember her for her small size, great intelligence, and quick wit; but most of all for her classy, yet humble character and generous heart.
