William H. Hinton, a beloved resident of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, with his devoted wife, Peggy, by his side. A man of great honor, William proudly served in the United States Army, earning several commendations for his courageous service, particularly during the Vietnam War.
Bill is deeply mourned by his loving wife, Peggy, and cherished as a dear brother to Elizabeth (Ron) Reese and Debbie (Bennie) Hodge. He was a loving father to Rodger Hinton, Bill was also a loving uncle to all his nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Shirley (Irvin) Roberts, Paulin (Jim) Mueller, Paul (Carol) Hinton, Eugene Hinton, Lillian Shields, and Dad and Mom Paul (Laura) Bailey, each of whom played a special role in his life.
A true aficionado of the great outdoors, Bill reveled in the joys of camping and fishing, often spending hours immersed in the beauty of nature. There was a certain magic for him in casting his line into the serene waters, where he basked in the companionship of family and friends. Each catch, be it crappie, catfish, or the occasional turtle, brought him delight and shaped fond memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him.
Bill's adventurous spirit extended beyond nature; he had a penchant for games of chance and often returned home victorious from the casino, a testament to his remarkable luck. Yet, his true passion lay in the quiet engagement of word search, where patience and focus provided him with solace.
A true handyman, Bill possessed an extraordinary talent for fixing just about anything, a skill that ultimately led him to establish his own business, showcasing his ingenuity and dedication.
Above all, Bill was a devoted husband. His 25-year marriage to Peggy was a cornerstone of his life, filled with unwavering faithfulness and kindness. He was a friend to all, never meeting a stranger, always ready to share his wisdom and lend a helping hand to those in need.
As we bid farewell to Bill, we recognize the profound impact he made on the lives he touched. The world will undoubtedly feel a void without his gentle presence, yet his loving spirit and tender heart will remain etched in the memories of his family and friends, who will forever hold him dear. There is no greater legacy than the love he bestowed upon his wife and those around him.
